Blessing of the Animals

‍ ‍

Blessing of Animals: Sunday 14 June, 2pm, Friary Garden

‍ ‍

The first among the many events we are organizing in connection with the jubilee celebration will be blessing of the animals in the spirit of St Francis’ dedication to the care of nature and animals on 14th June @ 2 pm. This is a unique opportunity to have your beloved furry & shelled friends blessed… for obvious reasons we are holding this in the Friary garden!

‍ ‍

Please Note-Very important details:

1. We welcome domestic pets like dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, tortoise, fish, birds.

2. All creatures are of course God’s own - however to maintain some sort of order - we will kindly ask you NOT to bring any carnivorous i.e. non vegetarian reptiles or insects - as any escapees would cause mayhem!

3. If you have a larger animal (e.g. sheep, pygmy goats, donkeys, horses) -you MUST let us know in advance so we can confirm if we can have them there (need to organise an area for them).

If your pet does not fit into one of the categories above, please email erith@rcaos.org.uk

4. ALL animals MUST be on a lead or in an animal carrier (e.g. closed basket, cage etc) - basically under your control at all times.

5. The parish (management) will not be responsible for any animal behaviour!

6. The entrance will be through the Friary gates on Carlton Road and there will be people on the gate to make sure animals coming in meet the above guidelines (or in the case of large animals have been registered!) - so you won’t be able to sneak your pet Llama in!

7. Lastly - if it rains cats and dogs on the day we will need to cancel! If you are in any doubt, please check the OLA website (www.ola.org.uk) as we will post a message on there to confirm if going ahead.

8. We will also be streaming the service on our YouTube channel - by coming along you agree to your animal being on TV! We look forward to seeing you (and your beloved pets) there!
